Homily from the 23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time
What the Lord says of Ezekiel is true for each of us as well, “I have appointed you a watchman.” We are to watch out for each other. We are to help each other to heaven. There is an urgency to this call to be a watchman. This starts within our Church community. We are called to be an example of Christ’s love by loving one another well and that starts with each of us taking responsibility for one another and for this community. Beyond this community, Jesus invites us to sacrifice to help others know him. I invite you to take ownership of the fact that Jesus calls you to owe nothing to anyone except to love them and to consider the implications of that fact. Who is Jesus calling you to love?
